Park Island - Which tower is best?

Park Island Tower
Everyone on Park Island has an opinion on which tower is best, telling you x Tower is best as it get the most sun, faces the best direction, and so on.

I personally prefer the outward facing apartments that have ocean views and these do command a higher price. Higher floors also mean a higher price. And apartments that have balconies tend to be higher priced than those without

Some will prefrer certain towers that get more sunlight. Others prefer towers that get less sunlight. There is one tower that is closest to where they treat the serwage on Park Island, which might be slightly lower priced as a result of that location.

This photo is the "prestigious" tower 5 Park Island. For a range of reasons Tower 5 apparently is the best tower on the island. It has the best location, apparently, from a Fung Shui perspective. It is the tower closest to HK island, so apparently "captures the wealth" from Hong Kong, and brings good fortune to the owner.

Some agents say that the developers Sun Hung Kai kept some of the top floor apartments of Tower 5 for themselves and family members, so that is why apartments in block 5 demand a premium. I am not sure if that is true, but it could well be.

I must say, Block 5 would clearly have spectacular views for anyone who has apartment which faces the ocean. These "guranteed views" bring a "wow factor" for which there will always be a premium buyer. Its also of the towers closest to the ferry terminal, the shopping center, and where main bus terminal for Ma Wan. Block 5 is also closest to where Sun Hung Kai are about to release the final phase of luxury low rise villas. Block 5 also has 2 beaches on the island just minutes walk away. And it is just a minute walk from 2 of the luxury club houses on the island.

At the end of the day though, what is best is really personal. Make your own decision, and don't listen too much to the advice of agents who try to convince you that a particular tower is best.

  1. I live in Block 21 of Park Island which is really nice. The security guards are excellent there, and I livke the view of the ocean. Its also close to the Ma Wan village.

But I agree block 5 is probably best. My father who knows a lot about fung shui always says that the block 5 is the best. Rentals are not that much higher there, and the location is actually also popualar as it is so close to the ferry. But if you want to buy in Block 5 is seems the prices for the fung shui factor are much higher.

  2. There also those roumers that when they built Block 5, there are 5 gold coins under each of the first level apartments, put in for fung shui purposes. Which, if true, makes me wonder, who actually would own those coins? Is it the owners of the units or is it the original developer.

I live in Block 16, and love the view from there, but of course the advantage of Block 5 and the ones facing that way are the open views to the city which why they demand a premium. But really, anyone in any block can go down to the beach and enjoy the same view.
